Paper Title: Teaching Truku songs through structured music education approaches

Abstract:

This study focuses on Truku songs how their materials can be applied in music education through transmission, analysis, and creative practice. First, it centers on the pedagogical transmission of songs, emphasizing learning approaches to melodic structure and lyrical content, including accurate vocalization, understanding the relationship between language and rhythm, and the oral transmission of Truku songs. Second, it conducts musical and textual analysis of the repertoire, addressing features such as melodic range, scale usage, and rhythmic structure, while also interpreting lyrical meanings and their cultural implications. This includes exploring how the lyrics may reflect lived experiences, social contexts, and the emergence of improvisational singing practices. Finally, based on these analytical findings, the study develops instructional activities that guide students in transforming musical elements and cultural contexts into creative practice, culminating in the composition of contemporary works inspired by Truku musical style, thereby fostering both cultural understanding and creative reinterpretation.
