The Taiwan Music Institute (TMI) houses an extensive collection of artifacts and manuscripts fundamental to the nation’s musical heritage. In recent years, beyond its ongoing commitment to promote digital archiving, the Institute has actively expanded diverse practices for the revitalization and creative reuse of its collections.

This presentation features two key examples: the transnational collaborative project, "Interpretation and Categorization of Songs in Tao Archaic Language," and the song revitalization carried out in collaboration with indigenous communities, based on historical recordings. Speakers from the Paiwan and Hla’alua communities will also be specially invited to share their practical experiences in transmission and learning. The aim of this presentation is to introduce TMI’s significant achievements in archival activation and the sustainable development of traditional music during recent years.
